The new normal

As we slowly emerge from the shadow of covid-19 and start to think about what we gained (and what we lost) during lockdown, it’s time to evaluate how we want to move forward.

For many of us, lockdown meant isolation, loss and a feeling of helplessness, but there were also wonderful examples of community spirit, technology connecting us, whether from across the world or across the street, and an appreciation of what we already have.

Many of us journaled or wrote essays on life under lockdown, others painted or immersed ourselves in cooking. Whether or not you focussed on your yoga practice or enjoyed walks in parts of your neighbourhood you may not have appreciated before, you may want to write about your experience.

If so, you might want to consider attending my Writers Victoria writing course on ‘Developing your nonfiction project’. It would be lovely to meet some of you face-to-face for this special event.
